To celebrate National School Choice Week, GSHE will lead four field trips to the historic New Hampshire State House! Like many other legislatures, it was closed to the public in 2020, so student groups were not able to visit the beautiful buildings, see the amazing Hall of Flags that has flags going back to the Civil War, and meet legislators. We are happy to help bring this opportunity to home educated students as we celebrate NSCW 2022!
WHO: NH home educated students and their parents.
WHAT: Visit the NH State House on a guided tour with other homeschool families, led by the Visitor Center guide.
WHERE: Meet at the main lobby, by the door to the Visitor Center, of the State House at 107 N Main Street in Concord.
WHEN: We have four tours – Monday, January 24th, Tuesday, January 25th, Monday, January 31st, and Tuesday, February 1st – all starting at 10am.
REGISTER: This event is free, but we require advance registration indicating the total number of family participants and which day. This is not a drop-off event so a responsible adult is accountable for the children in their care.

We hope to have a few special guests each day and may have the opportunity to visit the State Archive with older students.
There is a nearby parking garage and neighborhood parking with short walks. Refer to this map.
We would greatly appreciate having one or two adults willing to act as Host for each day. Please email us at info@granitestatehomeeducators.org if you can help act as a point-person for the field trip on either Monday or Tuesday.

Photos may be taken on the field trip to share on the GSHE website and social media. If you don’t wish to be included in photos, please be sure to inform your Host.
