GSHE Celebrates 2023 National School Choice Week with Virtual Spirit Week

During National School Choice Week, thousands of events are held across the country to celebrate the wide variety of educational opportunities available for K-12 students. These include local district public schools, chartered public schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning, and home education. Since NSCW began in 2011, there have been over 242,943 events across the country to celebrate school choice!

For 2023, GSHE will host a week-long virtual Spirit Week Contest! We have silly themes and activities planned that are easy to do from home. They are a way to have fun together – with your family and GSHE friends — from the comfort of your home and break up the winter doldrums.

Spirit Week Contest

Join us each day from January 23 to January 27 by posting a photo in our Facebook event; it is created in our main Facebook group as a private event to help respect family privacy.

Each GSHE family can score up to 10 points, one for the daily theme and one for the daily activity. Photos must be posted in the event to score points. The categories are very broad so they can be adjusted for a wide range of ages and don’t require any special purchases. Photos must be posted no later than Friday, January 27 by 10pm to qualify.

The family with the highest total points at the end of the week will win a $50 Amazon gift card! The tie-breaker will be decided by the GSHE leadership team. We will announce the winner on Saturday, January 28 and feature one photo (selected by the family) to share on our blog and social media.
