WHAT: NH House vote on HB 632, the bill that would repeal the Education Tax Credit scholarship program
WHERE: State House, 107 N Main Street, Concord
WHEN: Tuesday, March 19th, 8:30am to noon
The Education Tax Credit (ETC) scholarship program is the only one in the state that supports low-income students’ access an education that fits their individual needs. It allows private donations – not state funds – to be given to a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to at-risk children. Scholarships may be used for tuition at out-of-district public schools, private school tuition, or home education expenses.
This school year, 413 children utilize the ETC scholarship for their education. If the program is repealed, they will be forced to re-enter a learning environment that does not fit their needs.
The entire NH House of Representatives will vote on HB 632 on Tuesday, March 19th at 10:00am. Join us to welcome the representatives – on the front steps to the State House and entrance to Rep Hall on the 2nd floor — starting at 8:30am. When the House begins the session at 10:00am, we’ll go up to the gallery seating on the 3rd floor to watch the vote.
Bring the kids and signs that encourage our legislators to #SaveOurScholarships and vote *against* HB 632. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend! This is a perfect civics field trip – to see the legislature in action on an issue so near to our hearts!
