Last Thursday the NH senate made a token vote of support for NH’s public chartered schools with a 14 to 10 roll call vote to pass HB 563, the charter school funding bill. However, on the second reading, the senate tabled the bill, effectively killing it unless it is integrated into the budget bill. It is not clear what the senate intends at this point. It is still important to contact the senate to urge their support of our public charter schools. Without this modest funding increase, it is likely some schools will close.
